I had 36 pairs of black pants and still felt like I had nothing to wear
Hi, I'm Heather
For years, I worked in corporate environments where I needed to look polished, professional, and pulled together. But as an architect, I was also moving between business meetings, client conversations, and building sites.
Skirts were not exactly practical. So pants became my uniform.
Black pants, tailored pants, slim pants, wide-leg pants, different fabrics, different cuts, slightly different versions of the same thing.
At one point, I realised I owned 36 pairs of black pants.
Not because I loved black pants that much. Because I kept thinking the next pair would finally make getting dressed easier.
Spoiler alert, it did not.
The problem was not the clothes. The problem was that I did not have a system for putting them together.
Then everything changed.
After I left corporate life, we travelled around Australia in a tiny caravan.
Suddenly, my clothing storage went from an overfull closet to a space about the size of one or two shoeboxes.
Every piece had to earn its place. No "just in case" pieces. No ten versions of the same thing. No clothes that only worked one way.
So I turned it into a game.
How many outfits could I create from the few pieces I had? How many combinations could I make without repeating the same look? How far could one pair of pants, one shirt, or one layer really go?
The answer surprised me. The combinations felt almost endless.
That was the shift.
I stopped collecting clothes and started curating them
As an architect, that made complete sense to me.
Good design is not about adding more. It is about choosing what belongs, removing what creates friction, and creating a system that works in real life.
That is where the LUX LOOKBOOK started.
Because most women do not need another closet full of options.
They need outfits curated for real life
The LUX LOOKBOOK helps you see what is already possible in your closet, before you buy another thing.
